The Greater realms of Vile’kar consist of several planes, some combined to allow free travels while others sit isolated to prevent easy mixing of its denizens. At the heart of the world, and where most of our story takes place, are the Walking Planes. The realms of Fuelen: original home to humans and orcs, Seledar: labeled by humans as the “land of the small folk and animal-ken, Tormuut: a realm of mountain and sky spawning Dwarves, Dragons, and Giant-kin, and Aerdorar–home to the elves and fey kin.

The realms of Kol and Nyfelen house the demons and angels. Their realms were among the first created by the Gods, and its inhabitants directly served the Gods for a time before the Creators sealed themselves away in Noulmen. These realms, and the various separated planes of magic like Emsalat, sit isolated from the Walking Planes to house beings and magics unsuitable for mortal co-habitation.

Last among the realms is the demi-plane of Szamut. Legend tells of a time before the Walking Planes were unified where the Gods, unable to bear destroying any of their kin or creations, aided the Elves in trapping the five bastard children of Umoerth, God of Dissonance and the most dangerous Fey and Monster-kin of the various realms. In the sealing of the demi-plane, a corps of elves became trapped in exile along with these creatures, forever changing them over the ages in their struggle to survive.

Ch2 Lore Dump

Just a little lore dump about the greater world the story is set in. Some of this may be artistically interpreted by the denizens of the world, namely Aerdorai elves who refuse to believe their ancestors would trap their kin in a realm with monsters and instead choose to believe those trapped somehow deserved it. Some, like Szamutian elves, might still be pissed about their situation regardless.
