Panel 1: We cut inside as Kernel says "Mrow?" and in the background it translates to "Hello?" in a neutral yellow pattern. Panel 2: At a standing desk in mostly darkness save the glow of welding gear is a one-armed man in coveralls. There's electrical testing gear and robot arms all over the place as well. Panel 3: Kernel yells louder "MROW!" startling the man at the desk. Panel 4: The man turns around and says to Kernel, "Oh! Hi Kernel." Panel 5: The man, wearing a name tag reading "Jonas" says to Kernel "Here's the schematics with comments as requested." and produces the chip from the earlier mission report. The robot arm on the desk is giving Kernel some head pats that the cat seems happy to receive. Panel 6: Jonas clicks the chip into a slot on Kernel's neck, and the background reads "Chip acquired!" Panel 7: Jonas waves goodbye to Kernel and tells him "Be safe out there!" as the cat hops off the table to leave.
Panel 1: Kernel the cat runs across a holographic crosswalk lit in green to tell him to walk. Behind him the street is lit up with signs for all sorts of signs. To one side, a hover boarder is bouncing off a rather nice looking car, much to the annoyance of the driver. Panel 2: Kernel walks around a corner. In the alleyway ahead we see a sign for arms partially shadowed by a figure with red eyes. Panel 3: Kernel appears to have intruded on something. The red-eyed thug with an AK gun and yellow mech arms appears to be looking for a slighter man hiding behind a dumpster. Behind the dumpster is a window Kernel needs access to. Panel 4: Kernel uses the hiding man as a springboard, much to his suprise. Panel 5: Kernel says "Mrow?" as he looks for his contact in the window. Behind him the red-eyed thug shoves the dumpster out of his way and brandishes his AK, but the slender man has a pistol of his own whipped out and a grapple arm augment pulling him away.
Panel 1: There's a little black cat with a metal eye piece and back feet twitching happily in his sleep. He's all cozied up in a cat tower when someone off screen says "Kernel?" Panel 2: "Kernel!" Someone off screen repeats, waking the cat. A little readout of "Mom?" as if he recognizes the speaker as his human cat mom. Panel 3: The cat mom says, "New mission for you." to Kernel, who scans the printed mission details with his cybernetic eye. The paper has a map with an address, a picture of a chip that is marked as a target, and contact details for a Neutral party Arms Dealer Jonas Schreve. Panel 4: Kernel salutes, acknowledging his orders. Panel 5 & 6: Kernel hops from the cat tower out the nearby window, then hops down on to the ventilation work outside to get down to street level. Panel 7: Kernel is now at happily prancing at street level away from The Web.
